On 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝐬𝐭, 𝟐𝐧𝐝, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝟑𝐫𝐝, from 10.00 to 13.00 am, the workshop 𝙁𝙄𝙓𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝙈𝙀𝙈𝙊𝙍𝙄𝙀𝙎: 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝘿𝙊𝘾𝙐𝙈𝙀𝙉𝙏𝘼𝙍𝙔 𝙄𝙎 𝘼 𝙋𝙍𝙊𝘾𝙀𝙎𝙎 𝙊𝙁 𝙒𝙍𝙄𝙏𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙎𝙀𝙇𝙁 will be held by Portuguese film director 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐫í𝐜𝐢𝐚 𝐍𝐨𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐢𝐫𝐚. Having as a starting point fixed photographic memories, from a past simultaneously distant and familiar, the participants are challenged to discover a personal episode, built from fragments of rescued memories. The exploration of the documentary as a process of self-discovery and writing of the self is proposed, developing an autobiographical essay between images and between-sounds.

During 2015 she was in residence at the National Film Board of Canada and in 2016 she was a visiting scholar at the Film department of the University of Texas at Austin. Her documentaries have been selected for festivals both in Portugal and abroad.

She has a Ph.D. in Digital Media from the international program at the University of Texas, Austin – Portugal, specializing in Audiovisual Creation and Interactive Media, and a Master in Photography and Documentary Film from ESMAE – Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espectáculo do Porto.
Since 2013 she has taught several courses related to cinema and in particular documentaries at the University of Coimbra, the University of Maia – ISMAI, and ESMAD (Polytechnic of Porto). As a member of Ao Norte, she works in the organization of MDOC – Melgaço International Documentary Festival and of the Viana Film Meetings. Since 2016 she is vice-president of the European group Cinema and Contemporary Visual Arts, at NECS – European Network for Cinema and Media Studies, where she organizes conferences, exhibitions, and film programs. She is a researcher at ICNOVA – iNOVA Media Lab.

𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐫í𝐜𝐢𝐚 𝐑𝐨𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐬 has a degree in Communication Design and Audiovisual Production (2010) from ESART-IPCB, and a master’s in Illustration and Animation (2016), from ESD-IPCA. Since 2014 she has been working in stop-motion animation, as an animator, director, set/ props, and puppet creator. Collaborating with RTP, Nukufilm, Bando à Parte and Filmes da Praça. Co-directed with Joana Nogueira the short film ‘Pronto, era assim’ (2015), awarded at several film festivals. And ep. 7: Ornithorrhincos, from the TV series ‘Crias’ (2020), shown on RTP and ARTE. Currently I am part of the team at Animais AVPL, in Porto, where I collaborate in the projects in production: ‘Roupa Velha’ by Alice Guimarães, and ‘Casaco Rosa’ by Mónica Santos. Soon will begin the co-direction of the short film ‘Três Vírgula Catorze’. Simultaneously he dedicates himself to the formation of children, youth, and adults in the area of animation cinema.
