Synopsis:

The human body, in various situations, used to be seen as something natural and socially accepted, it was what allowed us to exist. However, through time and different eras it started to be criticised and being treated with discomfort in society. Until now, when people seem to be seeking more the acceptance of the naked body.

Biography:

Íris Souto was born in Porto in 2000. She started her studies in music at the age of 8 years. In 2009, she was selected to study at the Conservatory of Music in Porto where she studied classical guitar for 5 years. Later, she continued to study music in the Canto Jazz variant between 2015 and 2018. In those same years, Íris also showed interest in the audiovisual area, attending her secondary education at Soares dos Reis Artistic School. During her Audiovisual Communication course, Íris focused on the video specialty where she ended up writing, directing and producing Contrappostoa short film dedicated to the nude body. Since then, the film Contrapposto has been in several film festivals such as Porto/Post/Doc, FEST, AÇÃO05! - School Video Festival, Ymotion - Young Film Festival of Famalicão and was also highlighted by the P3 newspaper where it received a report dedicated to it. After a journey dedicated to cinema, Íris Souto has been in London following studies in Music.
