“The History of the World According to a Lesbian”
Curated by Joana de Sousa
April 9–12 | 19h15
The 8th edition of Porto Femme highlights lesbian cinema. As part of this commitment, the festival presents this special program, a selection of films that spans decades and geographies, celebrating the visibility, resistance and diversity of the lesbian experience in cinema. Curated by Joana de Sousa, this cycle explores cinema as a space for representation, identity and self-determination, with works from countries such as the USA, United Kingdom, Germany, Portugal, Brazil, Canada, Japan, Lebanon and Austria.
The Lesbian Special Program is supported by the Q - Reflections on equality, gender and inclusion project, promoted by the Goethe-Institut Portugal.
