Femmes at School
April 21 | 3:00 P.M. | ESAP (Porto School of Fine Arts)
April 22 | 9:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. | Portuguese Catholic University – Porto
In this ninth edition, our educational project is bringing Porto Femme to the student community as well, by organizing two special film screenings, with the filmmakers in attendance for a discussion!

Day 21
Special Program "LABOURS"
This is a special session of the Educational Project, featuring the first session of the “Lavores” exhibition. The session focuses on "the work of shadow”—the work that takes place before or after the actual work, often invisible and silent.
Shadow. At twilight. Music for You accompanies the daily routine at home and the solitary dissolution of the self into silence, where the voices on the radio break down the boundaries between the inner and outer worlds.
The screening will be attended by director Solveig Nordlund.

Day 22
Special Program Elene Naveriani
In this special session, Porto Femme presents the films of Elene Naveriani (Georgia/Switzerland), whose body of work stands out for its focus on marginalized lives and its celebration of queer narratives in contemporary cinema.
“Blackbird Blackbird Blackberry” (2023) will be screened, a sensitive film that follows Etero, a 48-year-old woman who, in a social context marked by norms and judgments, grapples with desire, independence, and the possibility of a new way of living and loving.
Following the screening, there will be a discussion with Elene Naveriani, who will be present at the screening, and the audience.
This activity is organized in partnership with the School of the Arts at the Portuguese Catholic University in Porto
