“The ground is drowning so we are floating”
Date: April 12th at 18h00
Venue: Maus Hábitos - Inauguração da Exposição “Reflexos Plano A” |
'the ground is drowning so we are floating' (2023) is an audiovisual/ AV live-act performance that calls for the exploration of the literal and abstract concept of portals.
Between earth and sky, sea and clouds; it proposes the creation of a meditative space that invites the audience to float to reflecting portals, embracing the intersection between exterior and interior and the different perceptions that travel from them.
From the real to the imaginary, 'the ground is drowning so we are floating' explores reflection as visual perception and one's sonic awareness through active inner listening from outer space.

Biography
1996, Porto.
Her artistic practice focuses on the production of digital audiovisual works, unfolding between the fields of installation, performance and visual and sound art.
Her work focuses on different aesthetic concerns and possibilities, exploring issues that address the dichotomies and paradoxes of reality and the imaginary, the exact and the abstract. Another important element that resides in her works is their metaphysical character, from which she reflects on the distortion of the perception of objects and sensations between the real (tactile) and mental world. These characteristics highlight the diversity of a work that seeks to be immersive and plural, opening space for dialogues and human and natural interaction. Nature emerges as one of the main objects of study and empirical analysis, articulated with the thought and modus vivendi of the Anthropocene era. From these elements, her artistic creation seeks to promote and expand an ecological and environmental awareness, while exploring the symbiotic relationships between human beings, nature and technology at the same time.
