With the aim of promoting artistic works created by women and non-binary people, whilst highlighting, through these works and the organisation of cultural, civic and social activities, the rights and equality of all people.
The association aims to create dedicated spaces for showcasing these works, with a particular focus on cinema.
One of the association’s major projects involves the annual staging of the Porto Femme – International Film Festival, as well as the organisation of film series, with a programme dedicated to the perspectives of women and non-binary people. The aim is to combat their under-representation in cinema.
The Femme Sessions, held on the last Wednesday of every month at Maus Hábitos, will serve as a forum for discussion and reflection on a wide range of issues.
Through Cinema aims to educate and inform everyone about the social and political issues affecting women and non-binary people around the world. We want to give a diverse voice to feminist movements, adopting an intersectional perspective on them and seeking to encompass the various groups and struggles.
