In our 9th edition, we explore an idea that is present in both cinema and society: Work. We invited illustrator Cátia Vidinhas to create the illustrations featured in our Porto Femme 2026 visual, in which she shares her perspective on the theme.
| About her Work |
“Creating the illustration for the Porto Femme festival poster was an exercise in listening and taking responsibility. Drawing on this year’s theme — women in the workplace — I sought to represent not only the female presence, but also their strength, diversity and leading role in different professional contexts.
The image is constructed in symbolic layers: hands that create, gazes that challenge, bodies in motion that occupy space. The composition presents the woman not as an isolated figure, but as part of a collective network that suggests solidarity and transformation. The colours strike a balance between strength and sensitivity, reflecting the complexity of the experiences that shape women’s journey in the world of work.
Rather than simply illustrating a concept, I wanted to encourage reflection — to remind people that equality is not an abstract ideal, but an ongoing process that is built day by day, through every gesture and every opportunity we seize. This poster is, therefore, an invitation: to look, to question, and to act.” - Cátia Vidinhas
