Synopsis:

Two sisters re-encounter between departures, absences and returns that seem impossible to have a place.

 

Nevena Desivojevic:

Born in Yugoslavia. In 2016 she completed a Master course in documentary filmmaking at DocNomads (Lisbon, Budapeste, Bruxelles).

Her first short film, Outside the Oranges Are Blooming (2019 premiered at DOKLeipzig Film Festival) was selected for more than 40 festivals and won several awards and nominations.

Currently she is writing and directing her first tetralogy.

Between 2019 and 2021, she worked on several projects in theatrical distribution at Terratreme Filmes, and since 2022, she is a festival distribution coordinator at Terratreme.

Lives and works in Lisbon.

“La Durmiente” by Maria Inês Gonçalves | Portugal | 20’ | fic | 2025

Synopsis:

“La Durmiente” explores the story of the medieval Infanta Beatriz of Portugal through fabulation and children’s imagination. Entirely shot at the Monastery of Sancti Spiritus in Toro, a space once inhabited by Beatriz and where her tomb lies, these children stage and interpret fragments of the life of this character erased by history, yet preponderant in the Portuguese dynastic crisis of 1383.

 

Maria Inês Gonçalves:

Maria Inês Gonçalves studied film at the Lisbon Theatre and Film School and Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, with a grant from the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian. Her graduation short O Meu Pijama premiered at the Premiers Plans D’Angers. O Banho, a short made in her Master’s degree, premiered at FidMarseille and was shown in ZINEBI, Festival dei Popoli, Bogoshorts, Laceno D’Oro, among others. La Durmiente is her first independent short film and was part of the film residency program NOKA Mentoring 2022.

Synopsis:

Lisbon. A group of teenagers stroll in the city center, which also seems to be in a process of mutation. Neko most of all.

 

Inês Oliveira:

Inês Oliveira (1976) lives and works in Lisbon. Since 2003, her main activity has been screenwriting and film directing: O Nome E O N.I.M. (short, 2003), Comer O Coração (doc., 2005), Cinerama (feature, 2009), Bobô (feature, 2013), Vira Chudnenko (documentary, 2017), O Sapo E A Rapariga (short, 2019), A Escuta (doc., 2022). Her films have been awarded and screened at dozens of international festivals such as TIFF-Toronto, Nouveau Cinemas Nouveau Medias, Angers, Torino FF, Mostra de São Paulo, DocLisboa, Vila do Conde, IndieLisboa. In 2022 she created the production company Filmes da Mãe.

“Rui Carlos” by Margarida Paias | Portugal | 14’ | fic | 2025

Synopsis:

Summer, 80s. Rui Carlos and his friends spend their afternoons playing football. When the ball gets punctured, he is left alone to deal with the responsibility and challenges of adult life.

 

Margarida Paias:

Margarida Paias (b. 2000, Almada). She graduated in Editing from the Lisbon Theatre and Film School (ESTC). During her studies, she worked mainly in the fields of directing, art direction and editing. Since then, she has worked in art and costume, most notably as art director and costume designer on the following films: Under the Mountains' Shadow (Diogo Salgado, 2025); La Durmiente (Maria Inês Gonçalves, 2025); Afternoon Sun (Gonçalo Pina, 2020); Infinity River (Gonçalo Pina) and The Days of Small Things (Catarina Campos), to be premiered. In the theater, she was responsible for the set and costume design for ”The Journey of Kolka Pankin and Petra Erchov Who Couldn't Believe Anything”, ”Zaca, Zaca” and ”Constantino, An Animal of Tales”. As an actress, she has acted in films by directors such as Susana Nobre, Inês Lima and Pedro Ramalhete. She has published a book of poetry ”For the Death of a Swallow”. ""Rui Carlos"" is her first short film as a director.

“Praia de Pedra” by Sofia Bost | Portugal | 28’ | fic | 2025 | Regional Premiere

Synopsis:

At the beginning of the 1990s, Leonor, a Portuguese nanny, travels to France with Vera, an eight year old that will spend the holidays with her French father and his new family. The strong bond between Leonor and Vera, together with the language barrier that isolates them, creates a peculiar dynamic. As tensions rise, Leonor is reminded of her place in the family.

 

Sofia Bost:

Sofia Bost (Switzerland, 1986) graduated in Communication Sciences from NOVA University Lisbon before moving to London to study film. In 2015 she completed an MA in Filmmaking at the London Film School.
Her first film, Dia de Festa (2019), premiered in the Cannes Critics’ Week and was screened at over 30 festivals, including the New York Film Festival, Leeds IFF, Odense IFF, and Helsinki IFF. Awarded the Professional Jury Prize at the French festival Films Femmes Méditerranée, the film received commercial releases in Portugal, the United Kingdom, Germany, Iceland, Uruguay, Brazil, and Argentina, and was distributed nationally on DVD and VOD.
Praia de Pedra, her new Portuguese‑French co‑produced short, filmed in France, premiered at Curtas Vila do Conde and is currently on the international festival circuit.
She is presently developing her debut fiction feature, Não Sei Para Onde Vou (Torino Script Lab).

“Quem se move” by Stephanie Ricci | Portugal, Brasil | 20’ | fic | 2025 | Regional Premiere

Synopsis:

During a night in Lisbon, Brazilian immigrant René wanders the city. In a series of encounters, she moves between brief moments of freedom within a queer community and the weight of an unresolved dilemma: remain without papers or return.

 

Stephanie Ricci:

Stephanie Ricci is a screenwriter and director from São Paulo, Brazil. She holds a BA in Film from FAAP (Brazil), a postgraduate degree in the art of writing from NOVA University Lisbon (Portugal), and a Master's in Film Curating from Elias Querejeta Zine Eskola (Spain). Her latest short film, Those Who Move, premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam (2025) and won Best Short Film awards that qualified it for the Academy Awards. Stephanie is currently developing her first feature film, Night’s Mouth, selected for the Hubert Bals Development Support 2025.
