Biography

Lia Bertels studied animation cinema at La Cambre (2006-2011). From live music videos to pure illustration passing through animation, her favorite medium, Lia Bertels makes graphic expression, which she masters in her own way in an efficient and stripped down style, a real plea for the deep nature of beings, taking her audience into an extremely intimate sphere of perceptions and feelings.

Synopsis

This film is dedicated to the memory of Marek Serafinski, an animation filmmaker and producer. It is a graphic and sound diary created from everyday life paper waste: labels, tickets etc. and cigarette packages of one chain smoker, accumulated by one collector within six years. It shows the degree of addiction, determination and a kind of addiction of the collector as well as a passage of time in that strange symbiosis of their shared life

 

Biography

Małgorzata Bosek-Serafinska was born in 1968 in Warsaw. Graduated by the Secondary Art School and Academy Of Fine Arts in Warsaw. In 1995 she took the 2D animation course in Studio Miniatur Filmowych. These two paths met in her debut animated film titled Dokumanimo. Małgorzata Bosek has had nine individual exhibitions in which she has presented for instance “Collection of buttons found on the streets’’. In 2017 she took over Serafiński Studio Sp. z o.o. as a producer.

Urban Sphinx is an animated short film that creatively documents the presence of street art in various neighbourhoods of Valencia, Spain, between 2018 and 2019. In URBAN SPHINX these pieces of ephemeral art are animated, connecting each image like the frames of a film. All these faces look at us with widely open eyes, as if they tell us that we exist, but we might not exist —and the world would go on

 

Biography

María Lorenzo Hernández (1977) is an animation teacher at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Universitat Politècnica de València, Spain. Her short film The Night Ocean (2015) has been nominated to the GOYA Spanish Academy of Film Awards. Her short films Portrait of D. (2004), The Carnivorous Flower (2009) and Impromptu (2017) received several awards. In 2012 she coordinated the collective film The Cat dances with its Shadow (2012). Urban Sphinx (2020), her most recent work, is a tribute to all street artists from the city of Valencia

Biography

Luise Fiedler, born in 1985 in Dresden, Germany. Studied Illustration at the Academy of Applied Science, Hamburg. From 2012 to 2015 she did an MA of Fine Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Hamburg. In the last years she has produced several award winning animation movies and was involved in international movie and theater productions. She currently works as a freelance filmmaker and a teacher at the Academy of fine Arts of Dresden.

Ami Lindholm is on a mission to make tired parents laugh! Her comic Vauvakirja-Baby Book and short film Mother and Milk show the best and worst moments in parenting, in a hilarious yet touching way. Lindholm has directed award winning animations, for example The Irresistible Smile (2006). Lindholm was an episode director at Rovio Entertainment for Angry Birds Stella Tv series seasons 1&2.

Biography

Angèle Béraud, born in 1989 in Paris, first studied History of the Arts in Angers. Diploma in hand, she left for Paris to study Cinema at the University Paris 8. She moved to Santiago de Chile in 2014, where she became a projectionist at the Arte Alameda cultural center, in order to study the cinema of the Resistance under the dictatorship of Pinochet for the writing of her final dissertation.

Vagina labyrinth is an animation with a video game style, based on a female perspective. A contemporary image of female body eroticism. The sexual experience that enters the vagina can be imagined as a maze adventure.
Players have to go through various levels in this vaginal maze to unlock arousing passions and attack the clitoris … until the treasure of the orgasm can be excavated. In the video, a large number of symbols of body and sex are used to show female eroticism and fantasy.

Biography

BadBadMeowMeow was born in Taiwan. Child of the internet century. She graduated from Taipei National University of the Arts, majoring in Theatre

Director. Her works contain video art, experimental film and theatre, and have been presented at several art fairs. Most of her artwork springs from personal emotions, as well as the unusual experiences that day-to-day life throws up. Her work makes use of the bizarre and to craft unique ways of telling stories, with her signature wicked black cat a repeat presence.

Synopsis

The Gods of Tiny Things is a collaborative collage animation work produced through a residential workshop at Bundanon, on unceded Yuin Country.
The imagery, musical composition and soundscape design were devised to reflect upon the imperilled lives on a climate-changing planet. The Gods of Tiny Things speculates upon parthenogenetic, queer insurrection, and the choreography of the dance at the end of time.

 

Biography

Deborah Kelly is a Sydney-based artist whose works have been shown around Australia, and in the Biennales of Singapore, Sydney, Thessaloniki, Tarra Warra and Venice. In 2017 her first international solo exhibition, Venus Envy, was held at the Kvindemuseet in Aarhus, Denmark. Kelly’s work has been presented in group exhibitions at MOMA PS1 in NYC, the ICA in London, the Hammer Museum in LA and the Pera Museum in Istanbul
