This workshop aims to be a space for creation and reflection on the role of costumes in the cinematographic context. The workshop consists of an introduction to closet and then, using different creative proposals, exploring and questioning its role in relation to space, light, sound and bodies.
Susana Abreu
Susana Abreu works as a costume designer for film and theater. She has worked on more than fifty films, including “Just in Time”, a 3D film by director Peter Greenaway; “Porto”, by Gabe Klinger; “Nothingness Club”, by Edgar Pêra, “A Pedra Sonha dar Flor”, the latest feature by Rodrigo Areias.
As a director, she premiered her first short film “Vapor” filmed in Super 8mm, selected for several film festivals, such as the Vila do Conde International Short Film Festival 2023, Female Film Festival 2023 in Los Angeles, winner of the audience award, Porto Femme International Festival 2024 where she received a Special Mention from the jury. “My Heart Safe at Home”, super 8mm music video for The Legendary Tigerman - In competition 24th Vila do Conde International Short Film Festival 2016. Music videos for Lola Lola and videos for Koki Nakano. “Let Bygones be Bygones” - video installation in 2015 at Solar - Galeria de Arte Cinemática de Vila do Conde, in a collective of artists linked to the production company Bando à Parte; with whom he has collaborated over the years.
