Synopsis:
Faial photographer Hilda Rebelo was forgotten by history. The discovery of her existence came from research into the images and photographers who immortalized the eruption of the Capelinhos volcano on the Portuguese island of Faial, in the Azores archipelago, between 1957 and 1958, the first underwater volcano in history to be photographed from the beginning to the end of its eruption and Hilda Rebelo was an essential part of these records. Thus begins a journey of discovery in search of her and her lost images, a journey that leads me to explore a life story marked by emigration to the other side of the Atlantic Ocean.
Biography:
Mar Navarro Llombart has a degree in Audiovisual Communication. Currently, with one foot in Spain and the other in Faial, the director is developing a new documentary project about another Faialense woman: the poetess Otilia Frayão. As a director she has a great interest in history and memory, especially in memory and women's history.

Synopsis:
Inês, Salvador, and Ernelcia, children of Maria De Lurdes - a woman who was killed at the hands of her ex-partner, report firsthand the events that culminated in the death of their mother - Maria. In parallel, we witness testimonies from public and legal entities who try to identify the missing piece of this puzzle that culminated in yet another life lost by femicide.
Biography:
Jéssica Lima is a Portuguese and São Toméan actor, writer and director. Her directorial debut was at East 15 Acting School where she wrote and directed "Suspected Person". Jéssica was selected to be part of Independent Film Trust’s "Elevate Writers Room" (2021) and East Side NGO Females in Film Lab. She wrote, acted in and directed the concept short "Black Girls Are Women Too". Her latest documentary "Call Me Maria" won Best Short Film at São Tomé Fest Film 2022. The film was shot in São Tomé and explores the topic of Femicide. Jéssica is currently directing her fourth animation video for UNICEF Sao Tome and Principe.

Biography:
Sara Lemos nasceu no Porto em 1989. Concluiu a licenciatura em Cinema e Audiovisual na ESAP (2010), onde realizou a sua primeira curta-metragem, “Saudade do Futuro”, cofinanciada pelo ICA. Durante o mestrado foi coautora, operadora de câmara e editora do documentário “Terra Mãe” (2015), vencedor do prémio Sophia Estudante pela Academia Portuguesa de Cinema (2016). Na área de vídeo trabalhou em projetos de teatro e música, tendo colaborado com artistas portugueses, como, Moncho Rodriguez, Igor C. Silva, Saphir Cristal e Nuno Costa. Atualmente, dedica-se ao ensino de teatro e cinema para crianças.

Synopsis:
Francisca awaits the trial of her ex-partner, accused of domestic violence against her. Claudia, Francisca's daughter, witnessed and documented the consequences of the psychological aggressions inflicted on Francisca after the end of their relationship. Francisca tries to regenerate and rediscover her identity as a woman. This court case led them to question themselves about the role of women in a patriarchal society, often placed "in the pink corner".
Biography:
She is an editor and director. Between 2001-2008 she worked as a graphic designer for the Ministry of Culture - Faro Delegation - and other institutions and companies and in 2008 she started editing as her main activity. In 2023 Cláudia Rita, parallel to the editing work, is producer of MADAME Filmes, which is directed towards the production of B-side narratives - privileging female and social minorities narratives.

Novíssimas Cartas Portuguesas |

Synopsis:
The documentary goes back to the initial protagonists with unpublished interviews with Maria Teresa Horta, Helena Neves, or Ana Campos and discusses the new frontiers of what it means to be a woman, interviewing Rita Rato, Sara Barros Leitão, trans women, black women, and young women.
"Novíssimas Cartas Portuguesas," a documentary that takes a look at 21st-century feminisms using the lenses of this work that inspired Simone de Beauvoir, Marguerite Duras, and so many generations of feminists from then on.
Biographies:
Cecília Honório - Professor of History and Doctorate in History of Political Ideas, she has been a Member of Parliament for three legislatures. She is a feminist and women's rights activist.
Irina Pampim - Producer, student of Sociology and Master in Sustainable Urbanism, activist for women's rights and social rights.
Paula Miranda - Twenty years of cutting and pasting images. Studying Fine Arts in the UK, today she works in the areas of advertising, television, documentaries and cinema. She likes to work in fiction but has a special space in her heart to fit real life (and the themes it brings with it) inside a screen.
